Dental Crowns

Look around. Usually, it’s all too easy to spot the smiles with the most dental work. Here at Comfort Dental, our goal is to make your smile as healthy and natural looking as possible. We strive to provide expert dentistry that is undetectable, replacing your existing dental crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth – only better.

Even if you’re suffering from extremely damaged teeth, or believe your smile is beyond repair, we can help. We excel in such cases (just ask our countless satisfied patients), using porcelain or porcelain “pasted on gold” crowns to make even the most dated and damaged smile appear good as new. Relying on Comfort Dental’s vast experience in this area and our undeniable smile successes, you can count on our porcelain crowns to repairing the most severe dental problems, even permanently replacing missing teeth.

Here at Comfort Dental, we work tirelessly to give you the healthiest smile possible, while restoring your bite and all functionality to your mouth. The result: a smile that looks as good as it works and dramatically increases your confidence. In fact, we’re renowned for our attention to detail and the consistently high quality of our dental work. While we appreciate the ongoing patient accolades we receive for this, what matters more are the profound life changes we see our work, and this exciting technology, bring about.

Comfort Dental can customize a restoration treatment plan for you, one that delivers long-lasting correction of your most major dental problem. With excellent oral hygiene, regular maintenance visits and a balanced bite (which we’ll make sure you have), your new smile will last 20 to 30 years, which is as close to permanent as dental treatment can get.

How long does it take to fit a dental crown?

Fitting a crown usually requires two office visits. During the first visit, the Comfort Dental team will remove the decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown of either plastic or metal. During the second visit, we will remove the temporary crown, and fit and adjust the final crown. Finally, we will cement the crown into place, leaving you with a beautiful new tooth. Best of all, no one will know it’s not one of your real teeth, but you.

What are the capabilities of crowns?

Here at Comfort Dental, we regularly treat major dental problems caused by serious accidents, injuries, disease, or extreme wear and tear. No matter the cause of your dental concerns, we can customize a treatment plan just for you. Oftentimes, this plan will include crown and bridgework, a very reliable solution for many major dental problems.

Materials used in crown and bridgework repairs is either high-grade porcelain, or porcelain bonded to gold. When it comes to treating the most serious dental problems, a higher strength of the porcelain and gold materials is recommended.

Special attention should be paid to your very back teeth where forces are highest and increasing strength is the main goal. Here, an all gold crown may be best. Where accidental damage has occurred, resulting in lost teeth, or where teeth have broken away through excessive wear or as the result of old fillings breaking, crowns and/or bridges can be used as a long-term solution.

If you’re one of the many people suffering from unexplained pain from filled back teeth, you should know this discomfort is usually due to hairline cracks in the chewing part of your tooth. Placing crowns on these teeth relieves the pain and restores full dental function. In the case of your front teeth, older fillings can both weaken these and cause appearance problems due to staining or chipping. Here, porcelain crowns and bridges are suitable in cases where porcelain veneers are not. If your concern relates to teeth with root canal fillings, crowns can be used to prevent breakage.
